I got me an “Adult” coloring book…..under the influence of my BFF. This is a great thing! I have always always loved to color. Now, I do not have to color Spider-Man or Transformers or whatever is left from when our boys were little. I also got the 24 count colored pencils….24!!! This is awesome too, but there is not nearly enough purple love in that box! Here are my people coloring and some of our artwork.....
Things I have noticed in my coloring adventures…. This is a challenge, I can’t color like a kindergartener anymore. My hands are not as steady as they used to be. Sitting for that long hurts my tail! 24 isn’t nearly enough colors! If you have an addictive personality - You. Are. In. Trouble. It is good to slow down and not be constantly doing. This, to-be-sure could help folks stop smoking. It takes a long time, sometimes days to finish one page. Bonnie said, “It’s relaxing and calming isn’t it?” - This sat with me and I marinated on it for a while. And I have noticed that while I am coloring, even if our spawn and our herd of doggies are running wild, I shut them out easily - Calm - Relaxing. I have also noticed how my thoughts go to other people, to the troubles, sicknesses, and deaths….so many that we have learned of lately. How my thoughts go to Bible verses and how I talk to God, and ask Him questions, wonder what He thinks about things, how I should deal with things, how I can be more like Him. What I should share with you. This is a great thing, this coloring thing. I am certain the next thing they will come out with is Barbie’s for adults. Exhausted Barbie and Hot-Flash Barbie will be good friends I bet! I loved playing barbies too….don’t judge me if I get one or two!
