I gotta tell ya, this year, I was super sad to take down all our Christmas decorations! Normally, they are about to drive me outta my mind and must come down on December 26th! But not this year. Dang man, I just wasn't ready yet....I guess I could have left them up til February. Our tree was just gorgeous, I mean really beautiful! Fake of course, never a real one again. E V E R.
When there are no ornaments on it, it looks a little sad. But! - I finally learned the art of putting ornaments in the inners of the tree. PLUS, I got some really big ornaments! And - I did the unthinkable this year.......I put it up before Thanksgiving! *Gasp* I know, some of you are appalled. Enough tree talk. Though I am still sad and the living room looks empty. So - I have been working on my fresh new 2016 calendar. Don't you just love a new calendar? Not academic year calendar though, hate those. Something about a clean start, ya know? Though it really is just a mind thing, with the calendar, and with the new year.
What isn't a mind thing and is the greatest new start of all?! No matter how horrible, awful, terrible, and nasty you have been, no matter where you have been or what you have done, you CAN be made new! I have been there - done that. What a terrible, tangled up mess I was - just a total train wreck! I worked very hard for a long time to destroy myself. Then one day....one day, I gave it all away, gave it all to God. Told Him that I just couldn't do it on my own anymore and didn't want to. Please make me new. Please take all this away. Please heal me. And you know what....He did!!! Praise God He did!! Man! I still cry when I think of how much He has changed me. He will make you new - He will take away the hurt - He will take away reminders of the past - He will change your focus and interests - He will change how you talk and how you act - He will give you peace - He will change you and give you a new heart!! I promise He will, He did it for me. I would be nowhere and nothing without God! Precious friend, if you don't know Jesus, I would love to introduce you to Him. Praying your day is totally awesome!
