Yesterday, my precious boy and 28 other young folks and 4 some what grown folks, left for church camp....5 hours away from home. F-I-V-E.....5 HOURS FROM HOME! DO YOU HEAR ME?!!! My child has not been that far from me unless he has been with his Meme, traveling around. My flesh really really wanted to get all worried and goofy acting....thank you Lord, that we are doing The Armor of God study right now and I have my Armor on! Didn't shed 1 tear....that is some real progress! My people know this is huge progress, oh how I used to get sooooooo worked up over everything! Gosh, has God done a wonder in this redhead! Here is the crowd of really sleepy ones ready to go!
My boy has been so excited and I have been excited for him....I loved going to church camp back in the day! Of course, it was MUCH different back then, all the girls were in one huge room with, it seemed like a million bunk beds and NO air conditioning!! NONE! I can still sing some of the funny songs we used to sing about announcements or mail-call! LOL....that makes me giggle...what awesome memories! One of the coolest things about this camp it that they live stream the evening service! How awesome to be part of the service with our kids!!! There are over 1,100 kids there! God is doing a mighty work! I can't wait for them to get home and hear everything that they did and see the fire and excitement! The music, the message were all fantastic, very powerful! At the end, of course the pastor gave an invitation for anyone to receive Christ into their lives. This is always very moving and emotional to me. He asked everyone that did to raise their hands - then to stand - then to come to the front, to be bold and unashamed! The camera moved for just a moment to see all of the students that had come forward....I don't even know how many had come forward, over 100 from what I could see....but in the brief glimpse of those students, I saw my boy!! He had gone through the motions, when he was younger, but I don't think he "got-it" then.....he gets it now!! Praise God, this child is anointed for big things, the Lord is going to use him in huge and mighty ways - I am claiming it!!! Oh this Momma's heart....I balled! My sweet sister, Kelly texted me immediately, "was that your boy?" She was balling too! There is not another feeling in all the world greater than knowing your child will be with you in Heaven!! NOTHING!!! If you - your child - your husband - your parents do not know the Lord, if you don't know that you or they will be with Jesus for eternity - YOU NEED TO BE SURE!!! Have the talk - Get your tails to church - Seek out wise counsel - Do whatever needs to be done to make this happen! DO NOT put it off, not-no one is guaranteed tomorrow!! If you left this world today, where would you be? People....I will go on and on about this.....there are no words to express how important this decision is!! For God so loved THE WORLD that he gave his one and only Son, that WHO-SO-EVER believes in him will not perish, but have eternal life. - John 3:16
