My Word This Year

Several friends have asked me how I chose my focus word for this year - Faith I heard about this last year, on KLove.  Instead of making a new year's resolution….that you know you won’t keep and is the same as all the years before.  You pick one word and focus on that one word for the year. I totally loved the idea!!!  So last year, I pick Fix My Eyes. Yes….I know it's more than one word. Yes….I know it's a song. (I wish you could see the look on my face and hear my voice when I say that)  ha! After writing down several different words and praying about it, Fixing My Eyes on God was the right one for me, for that year.  It was an awesome experience!  You should do it!  For real! This year, I really didn’t put a ton of thought into my word, it was just there.  My precious friend, Louise and I took the spiritual gifts test a few months ago (I love tests like that and personality tests!  EEEKKK).  It asks you over 100 questions and then gives you your top three spiritual gifts. The last time I took it, administration was my number one….it is still in my top three and I guess it always will be there.  Because, we really do need organized paper pushers, right?  I joke….administration is so much more than that!  I would much rather singing be in my top three! My number one spiritual gift was Faith! I LOVE THIS VERY MUCH!!! I love it because it shows me how much I have grown since the last time I took the test years ago.  My journey…..my story….my path…..my surrender…..my healing…..God’s presence in my life and the marvelous wonders He has done since then has grown my faith tremendously! When God picks up a heaping tangled up mess of a girl - cleans her up, calms her fears, doctors her gashes and hurts, sets her feet on the narrow path, forgives her, repairs her, loves her regardless of her past and gives her a new heart - that will grow your faith! Being in the middle of God’s complete awesomeness - that will grow your faith! God is so very good!  Man - tears again.  Oh how I ache for all of you to know Him like I do!!  There is nothing like it in all the world! So do not fear, for I am with you;  do not be dismayed, for I am your God.  I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. - Isaiah 41:10
