Does the devil work triple overtime at your house on Sunday mornings? He does at our house - every Sunday!
You know what it looks like - you set the alarm so that you have plenty of time to get ready before you get everyone else up and have your quiet time. You know - a peaceful and enjoyable Sunday morning. Yea right. The devil orchestrates any and every manner of crazy aggravating mess to stress you out and make you want to scream, WE ARE JUST STAYING HOME! (So I can be mad, irritated and ticked off all day.....distraction to keep your mind off of God!)
The alarm doesn’t go off - The hot water heater isn’t working - Your flat iron is dead, therefore, bad hair day (my personal challenge) - Dog vomits on the floor - Hubby is grouchy - Kids won’t get out of the bed (and are complaining when they do) - The jeans you wanted to wear didn’t make it into the dryer last night - It’s raining - The car won’t start, if you can even find your keys to start it - An accident has blocked your road to church and you have to consult with google maps to find another way to the Lord's House (oh yes, this has happened to us).
BUT….if you press on through all of these hurdles and get you and your people to church, aren’t you blessed in someway when you are there? YES - Always - Every Time!
The praise time blesses you - this is always true for me, tears normally flow every Sunday!
The sermon touches you and changes you or encourages you.
A church family member hugs you and tells you that they love you.
You see that your hubby or your kids are touched and moved in some way. I especially love this one!!!
Press through all the non-sense and crazy mess that may happen to discourage and distract you! Do NOT NOT NOT let the devil succeed!! He is after you, he is after your hubby and your kids! He wants to destroy all of you! Press on! It is totally worth it!
We started a Revelation study this morning, that will last most of the year! I am pumped about this!!!
