Feeling a little nervous here....and a little embarrassed because I haven't written in so very long. Have I missed it? - YES! Do I have a million excuses - Of course.
If I am being honest, the biggest reason is that I don't feel like anyone will read what I write....like it has all been said before....lather-rinse-repeat. What new could I possibly have to say?
Don't we excel at making excuses?
Of course, that is the enemy whispering in my ear.
God really does have a sense of humor and has a way of getting His point across to you.
So - I get these emails from the blog/site when a new user registers or changes their password. One day a couple weeks ago I received well over 100. Yesterday I received over 200 - if these are legit, I don't even know, but I do know that God was trying to get my attention - I had to laugh at the overload.
Maybe I do have something to say that just one person might need to hear. - If that is you, I am thrilled you are here!
Here's a super quick life update (SOOOO much) - since my last writing -- we have moved further out into the country and as a result had to find a new church home. Cute hubby and I celebrated 30 years of marriage in 2022 (to be written about one day)! I have switched jobs and now work from home, our oldest son got married - he and his beautiful bride have given us 2 grandsons! Let me just tell you....they are the best most wonderfully awesome humans ever! I affectionately refer to them as Peanut-butter and Jelly. Gosh I love them! Baby boy just turned 19 and has met the love of his life, he will marry her one day and we can't wait!
Oh yea and COVID happened. COVID and working from home kinda turned me into a hermit. I haven't left the house much (unless those cute little boys need their Grammy to come over).
Papa has thumped me in the head about that too. I am being more intentional about serving again and being part of a Bible study group at our new church. These make me happy!
God is good! He has blessed us - our cup is overflowing!
Here is what I sensed from Papa a few weeks ago while sitting in church - I have been wrestling with Him about writing....really being a stubborn pain, digging my heels in and not moving, making all sorts of excuses.
I already told you my biggest reason - well - He cleared that up that morning. I keep in my Bible a list of Bible verses that are God's promises. This is hand written and I tore it out of a spiral notebook (you know, its fringy). My BFF and I have s l o w l y been going through these together, really digging in and examining what they mean.
As I was listening to the message that morning I ran my hand over the fringy edges sticking out of my Bible and God said - write about My promises.
Whew - I am glad He cleared that up.
To drive the point home even more, here are some of the notes from that Sunday's message which was about Mary the mother of Jesus entitled Hope in Confusion.
*When was the last time you told the Lord yes?
**Are you willing to follow Mary's example?
***Are you willing to do whatever He asks of you?
****Are you willing to be made more willing to be used by God?
SEE? - What do I do but say yes?
I am so excited to share what we have learned about God's promises with you! There are a whole bunch - get ready!
