The Road to Recovery

Updated: Jun 2, 2024

The Road to recovery is paved with redhead madness! Two weeks ago today and everyday since, has had a new goal attached to it.  When I got home from the hospital, my first goal was take a shower and shave my legs!  The next day, I added to that goal, wash my hair.  My other daily goals looked like this....

  1. DO NOT COUGH, SNEEZE OR LAUGH

  2. Walk to the mailbox

  3. Use the potty

  4. Eat something more than mashed taters

  5. Walk to the neighbors mailbox

  6. Use the potty

  7. Check my emails and maybe answer them

  8. Write thank you cards and get them in the mailbox

  9. Do not take a nap

  10. Eliminate pain meds

  11. Pay bills

  12. Watch that movie that has been laying around for months - Concussion with Will Smith, great movie btw

  13. Drive mini-me 50 feet to the bus stop The list goes on, but you get the idea - Ya gotta have  a goal. Then on Friday, my man got me out of the house for the first time after surgery! I love that man!  I have never been so excited to go to Walmart!  On a normal day, I despise going to the evil empire, as everyone leaves their brain at the door and acts like they don't have one ounce of sense in their body!  Gosh!  Well, that day, I left my brain at the door and we roamed about the rows with the other crazies.   THEN....I had been dreaming about tacos and my man took me to have some tacos! They were the best ever!  I nearly overdosed on chips and salsa! Saturday he took me out for a short bit and Sunday we were back at church! That was the best feeling, to worship, hear the word and be loved on!  I love our church family so very much!  I desire for everyone to be surrounded by awesome people like I am!  Find yourself a church family!  Stop making excuses and DO IT! Today!  I get to drive again!  I don't even know where I will go, but I will go....maybe back to the evil empire and leave my brain at the door. :) I shared this on FB the day after surgery and wanted to share it again, so that it doesn't get lost, or looked over because it means a great deal to me..... Yesterday morning, I woke up to my text, emails and Facebook filled with prayers.....it was very awesome and very overwhelming, to the point of tears. To know that you are being lifted high in prayer is a wonderful feeling! God certainly came to the hospital before me and prepared the way and gave me favor, they knew His daughter was in the house! Surgery went great and I have been surrounded by outstanding people since I walked in the door! To each of you who has prayed over me, thank you, from the deepest part of my heart! What a privilege we have to be able to go to God in prayer! Love to all!! I must admit, I had a little internal mini happy dance party when the day rolled around for "that time of the month" and I didn't have to deal with that!!! HOLLER!!!  Y'all they did the surgery with a robot!  What?!  Check this out...  http://www.carolinarobot.com/ Now all I want to know is, since my girl innards have been removed, what am I supposed to do with all these girl products?  Take them to work and put them on the break room table with a sign attached saying "Free to good home"? HA!  That makes me giggle a bunch (now it doesn't hurt as bad)! Hoping and praying that this encourages you today and makes you giggle too!
