I am over the moon excited to share this with you!!! My man is wise - wise - wise....things roll out of his mouth and I just stare at him in awe and wonder how in the world he came up with those words! He has been known to write me poems (there is no face to insert here to show my true feelings about when he writes me a poem)! I absolutely LOVE it! It is one of my favorite things, but he doesn't do it nearly enough. That is a hint, honey. :) So.....something was heavy on his mind this morning and we talked about it, then he went to writing, and shared it on Facebook. I felt like it needed more sharing, so I am sharing it with you, here, in the Redhead Ramblings....though he isn't a redhead and he doesn't ramble, but he is an extension of me and we share a brain. I love how he writes and keeps all things real and pointed in the right direction. I secretly hope to one day write a book with him. Just keep that to yourself, ok? This is Gary's heart..... 1 Corinthians 15:33 - Do not be deceived: Bad company ruins good morals. Not too long ago I was asked by a good friend should he depart himself from a person that was not on the same path as he was. I told him, God wants everyone to believe and follow Him. It's our duty as messengers of God to try and try to influence others to believe in Him and to take God's path instead of their own. But in the end it is their decision on which path they take, not yours. Titus 3:10 - As for a person who stirs up division, after warning him once and then twice, have nothing more to do with him.
This verse means a lot. As Christians we feel we should continue to help non believers or people who are believers but are not living or following Christ the way they should. As Christians we have to be very careful of whom we associate with and for how long.
Let's say I was outside working in the yard and I have dirt all over my hands and my wife opens the door and says honey it's time for dinner. Well I'm going to wash my hands before I sit down with the family to eat dinner right? Same goes for people who are not a good influence in your life. If you have tried not once but twice in warning them, you should wash your hands of them. Because by keeping them in your life you are opening the door for the enemy to enter your life through them.
Proverbs 12:26 - One who is righteous is a guide to his neighbor, but the way of the wicked leads them astray.
God wants them, but God does not want to lose you in the process.
Jesus says it best in Matthew 5:44 - But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.
Just because we wash our hands of those that are a bad influence on us does not mean we stop trying. We continue to pray for them, pray that God will lead them down the right path.
I told you!
Wise.
I wish I had taken this warning seriously many moons ago and not mingled with the wrong folks. But....you live and hopefully you learn from those mistakes and those unsavory relationships.
I have had to leave some friendships for this very reason. Was it easy? No way! It was hard, it was difficult and some days you miss what you once had with that friend. But, when you are on the right path and you are living for the Lord, you understand that some folks can't come along. If they are stunting your growth, discouraging you, not encouraging you in your walk, if they are not feeding you and making your life richer, then they are not welcome.
One of the many many many awesome things about Papa is, when you leave those relationships to follow Him, He will bless you with new or renewed relationships that will feed you, will encourage you, will walk along side you no matter what and make you a better person. He is good like that!
I challenge you today, to examine that relationship.....you know the exact one that I am talking about. Is it time for that break? Time to follow a new, better path?
It won't be easy, but you CAN do it!
